Configuring OsCommerce - OsCommerce Edit Your Header Or FooterHeaders and footers are the common files that display the same top and bottom portion of all your site pages. Headers are the logos and icons on the top most end of your home page. We can edit the header file to change the logo or to hide the icons on the right. In this article it is explained how to change the logo and hide the icons.Step 1 How to Change logo :- You have to upload your logo to the Catalog\image directory to replace the existing oscommerce.gif. It is in this file the actual logo is stored. It is better to overwrite the existing file with the new file by providing the same file name. You can name your logo oscommerce.gif as well. If you name it anything else, you will have to modify the header.php file to show the revised logo name. After uploading you can see, a new logo appears in the header. Step 2 How to hide the icons :- Now let us see how to eliminate the icons from the header. For this purpose we have to edit header.php file in our file manager. So we need to change permissions on the file so that it is writable. Do the following procedure using FTP.. Select Catalog → Include → right click header.php → select CHMOD → change to 777 → save. Step 3 Now let us edit the file. Do the following procedure.. Open admin end → Select Languages → Details → file manager → Includes → header.php → edit Step 4 Now we can see the php script and if you wish you can remove the entire code. Alternatively , you can just command out the images. This will allow you to easily restore them in future. Command out the following codes using "//". echo \'\'.tep_image... and save the file. |
