FTP File Transfer Protocol: How Do I Use Netscape Composer For FTP
Netscape Composer integrates powerful What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) document creation capabilities into Netscape Communicator\'s already rich set of World Wide Web features. In addition to electronic mail, threaded discussion group, and file transfer features included in Netscape Communicator, Composer makes composing for the Web, email, or newsgroups a simple cut-and-paste, drag-and-drop process. The document creation capabilities in Netscape Composer are designed to provide both experienced and beginning content creators with a simple yet powerful solution for editing and publishing online documents. WYSIWYG editing allows first-time users to create dynamic online documents easily and publish them to local file systems and remote servers with ease. How to Publish a document to a sever? Browse the initial screen of the Netscape
Composer and it is the
environment in which users of Composer design and build web
sites. Once the site has been constructed it must be saved before
publication. This is accomplished either by clicking the 'Save'
button or through the 'File' dropdown menu.
The dialogue box displays the settings
that Composer will use to publish your page. There are three
pieces of information we need to enter here. One is the host.
The other two are the username and password. Once the appropriate settings have been entered click 'OK'.
Once the document has been published to
the server, Composer will return to its initial screen. Note that no
indication is given that the upload was successful, other than the absence of
an error message. As always, it is wisest to visit the URL for the
site and verify that the file is displaying properly.
