| Configuring the
Software Open the Webpage you want to upload to the
Server. Click on the "Upload" button on the top right of the
screen.
A new window should appear like the one below.
Under "Upload" check "Include
image files".
Next click on "Set FTP Options...".
To connect onto the Museum\'s server you need to enter the "Server
Name" as "www.museum.siu.edu".
Each school has been given a name which should be entered in the
"User Name" box.
Each school\'s Password is also
unique. When you were given a user name you were also asked to
choose a password. Enter your password in the "Password" box.
The Remote
folder directs Claris to upload to your folder on the
Museum\'s server. Follow the address listed in the example above,
but change the last section from "yourusernamehere" to your own
unique user name (i.e.: uhigh, salem, trico, etc.).
Now click "OK".
Next, a window will open asking about your preferences for
consolidating files. This is asking you if you want all the
pictures, movies, etc. that you have placed on your Webpage also
uploaded to the server. Select "in a
separate media folder" under "Consolidate
media files". Under "Media folder
name:" type in the name of the folder on your computer
that you are storing all your images in (this would typically be
images, or pictures, or picts). Now click on "Consolidate".

If Claris was unable to find files you have placed on your
page, then it will ask you to locate them. Once all the files
have been located then press "OK". If you were successful in
transferring your Webpage you will not see any further windows
or warnings from Claris. Congratulations! You have transfered
your first Webpage! You will need to upload each Webpage
that you created for your project using this method. |
