Setting up mail for MS Outlook Express 5.5-6

  • Open Outlook Express.
  • On the menu bar, click on Tools and select Accounts.
  • An Internet Accounts window will open.
  • Click on the Add button. A pop-up menu will appear.

    Select Mail from the list.
  • The Internet Connection Window will open.

    In the Display Name field, type in your full name.
  • Click Next.
  • In the E-mail Address field, enter your e-mail address.
  • Click Next.
  • Select POP3 from the drop-down selection box.

    In the Incoming Mail (POP3) Server and Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server fields, enter "titan.cvip.net."
  • Click Next.
  • In the Account Name field, enter your e-mail username.

    In the Password field, enter your e-mail account password.

    Put a checkmark in the "Remember Password" box so Outlook Express will store your e-mail password.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Finish and you will return to the Internet Accounts window.
  • Click on the Properties button

  • Click on the Servers tab.

    Click in the box next to My server requires authentication at the bottom of the window so that a check appears in the box.
  • Click on the Settings button to the right of My server requires authentication.

    Ensure that the circle next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server is filled in. If it is not, click the circle to fill it

  • Click the OK button.

  • Click on the Advanced tab.

    Click the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under Outgoing mail (SMTP) to put a check in it.

    Click the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under Incoming mail (POP3) to put a check in it.

    If it is not set already, enter "25" in the text box next to Outgoing mail (SMTP).

    If it is not set already, enter "995" in the text box next to Incoming mail (POP3).
    1. Click OK.

    2. Close the Internet Accounts window.

    You can now receive e-mail with Outlook Express. NOTE: You must be connected to CVIP to send e-mail.
