Hosting Billing: PhpCOIN
phpCOIN is a free software package originally designed for web-hosting resellers to handle clients, orders, invoices, notes and helpdesk, but no longer limited to hosting resellers. phpCOIN is used by over twenty-five thousand people worldwide*, including web-hosts, designers, lawyers, accountants, and a school band
The current version is Release v1.2.2. Most questions about features are answered on the forums, and several of our users are contributing to the online manual ~ feel free to add your .02 The phpCOIN (Clients, Order, Invoices, and Notes) package was
originally designed for small to medium sized webhosting resellers but
can now be used by any type of busines. It\\'s purpose is to present
information to a potential (or existing) client via misc content,
provide an interface for collecting client and order information,
direct the client to a "pay link" for billing, and provide a means to
monitor these items. The primary goal is to provide an integrated
environment in which a client or admin can perform the desired tasks
within a single interface.
The phpCOIN package can assist you in the following:
- Site Content- create and manage site information for
easy display for potential and existing clients. The content is
searchable with the "Search" module.
- Order Process- provide a configurable of forms for
collecting client information during order process, and provide a
single "paylink" at the end of the process to direct the client to
third party billing. Search orders feature available.
- Invoices- provide a method of invoicing clients for
orders / services in either a one-shot invoice, or as a recurring
invoice. Search invoices / transactions feature available.
- Client Managment- keep client information profile,
order history, invoice / payment history, support helpdesk ticket
history. Search clients feature available.
- Support- provide an integrated support helpdesk trouble ticket system. Search trouble tickets feature available.
- Contact- provide a means for clients to contact you (ticket system or contact forms) and for the admin to contact the clients.
The Content:
The package provides several methods of creating and presenting various
site content to current / future clients. The built-in items one can
use:
- AuxPages- the package provides a content module called
"Auxpages" which permits the admin to load single coded pages into the
system by simply creating the page and calling accordingly. This
feature is to provide capability more advanced than the standard
"Pages" or "SiteInfo" content.
- FAQ- the package provides a basic "FAQ" module which
permits the admin to create from the browser interface, "Frequently
Asked Questions" content for the site. Multiple FAQ\\'s with
questions/answers can be created. In addition, the "FAQ" can be
assigned to be viewed by all visitors, existing clients, or admins only
and can features on/off for each item to permit "work in progress". The
FAQ content is included in the "Search" content options.
- Menu System- the package provide top menu, and seperate
logged in user menu, that can be configured through the admin interface
as to whether on/off, which images to use, and the desired link for
each button. In addition, left/right menu columns are also available
for additional menu functions.
- Pages- the package provides a content module called
"Pages" which permits the admin to create from the browser interface,
content for the site. The content can be in the form of plain text, or
common html with images, tables, etc. The "Pages" feature also includes
footer menu navigation options for "flowing" documentation (prev / main
/ next buttons are configurable for each page). The Pages content is
included in the "Search" content options.
- SiteInfo- the package provides a content module called
"SiteInfo" which permits the admin to create from the browser
interface, content for the site. The content can be in the form of
plain text, or common html with images, tables, etc. The SiteInfo
content is very similar to the Pages content, but geared more towards
common site information items: policies, about, main index,
announcement, etc. and offers an on/off "Return" footer menu.
